The Bit Where We Pretend to Have a Mission Statement

Here’s the section where we’re supposed to talk about “bold visions”, “unique voices”, and “disrupting the industry”. So yes — consider us bold, unique, and very much disruptive.

Tick, tick, tick.

The truth? We’re a small, loud mouthed Yorkshire based team making films and TV we actually care about.

We made Three Day Millionaire on Netflix. All Towns Aren’t We on Amazon. And our latest feature, Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint, continues our streak of making things we love without writing a 9-point manifesto about “creative ecosystems”.

Shush Films — redefining paradigms, or whatever we’re meant to say here.

Film

Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint

Shush’s upcoming feature film Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint is in production and slated for release in 2026 — the company’s second narrative feature under the Shush banner.

The film stars John Bradley, Celia Imrie, and Richard E. Grant, with an ensemble cast including Adjoa Andoh, Sophia Di Martino, Kiell Smith‑Bynoe, Karl Pilkington, Nigel Planer, Adrian Rawlins, Ann Mitchell, Dustin Demri-Burns & Harriet Webb.

Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint is a festive comedy about a reclusive model-soldier painter with a lifelong hatred of Christmas, who is sentenced to community service at a struggling retirement home. There, he is begrudgingly roped into directing a chaotic resident-led production of A Christmas Carol. As rehearsals spiral into comic mayhem — and ghosts of his own past resurface — he must decide whether to retreat into solitude or embrace the messy, magical chaos of community, friendship and Christmas cheer.

TV

All Town Aren’t We

Grimsby Town FC, once a high-flying football club with a proud history, is now on the brink of relegation from the Football League. The impending threat of semi-professional football looms on for not just the club, but an entire community. This all-access three part epic follows the club through impending disaster, a change in ownership, and a miraculous change in their footballing fortunes. Witness one of the most breathtaking sporting stories of all time play out at Grimsby Town FC.

Three Day Millionaire

Shush’s second feature film Three Day Millionaire has been released in UK cinemas in November 2022 and is now on Netflix in the UK. The film peaked at #5 in the Netflix charts and has been distributed globally.

The films stars Colm Meaney (Con Air), Robbie Gee (Snatch), Jonas Armstrong (Edge of Tomorrow) & James Burrows (This is England)

Three Day Millionaire is a rollicking black comedy straight from the rain-soaked northern fish docks of Grimsby. It follows a thrill-seeking young fisherman and his pals looking to party hard for three days straight before their world, and Grimsby’s lifeblood, comes to a staggering halt.

Cast also includes: Lauren Foster, Sam Glen, Melissa Batchelor, Grace Long and Michael Kinsey.

Life in Non League

Shush’s TV comedy pilot Life in Non League was directed by Jack Spring in 2024 and marks the company’s first move into original scripted television.

The pilot stars James Fisher, Jase Rivers, Lindsay Bennett-Thompson, alongside a supporting ensemble drawn from across the UK comedy scene.

Life in Non League is a warm, sharply observed comedy set in the gloriously chaotic world of grassroots football. It follows the misadventures of a struggling non-league club fighting to survive financial free fall, temperamental players, eccentric volunteers, and the kind of Sunday-morning hangovers that would cripple a Premier League squad. With its mix of heart, humour, and mud-soaked realism, the show captures what makes lower-league football both ridiculous and completely irresistible.

As a youngster, Shush co-founder Jack dropped out of University in order to chase the dream of making feature films. Being a young pup from a normal upbringing, his contacts in the film finance world were non-existent, as was his access to high net worth individuals. Jack launched what became the UK’s largest inflatable hot tub rental company in order to prove to investors he could be trusted with their cash. He raised the finance to become the UK’s youngest feature film director, learned a ‘ton of naughty words,’ and kickstarted his career in film and television.

The old man of the team, Andrew grew up in Grimsby before heading to London to work as a lawyer, then banker, before starting his own business with colleagues from Lehman Brothers. Twenty years on, Revcap is a £3 billion business that invests in real estate projects around Europe. Coming back full circle, he has now bought a major stake in his lifelong love, Grimsby Town Football Club, whilst continuing to dabble as wicketkeeper for his local village cricket team in Yorkshire.
